Rainforest Chai No. 113 is a rich, caffeine-free chai with a chocolatey, unctuous mouthfeel. This blend contains no tea (hence the absence of caffeine); rather, it combines maya nut, Guittard chocolate, cardamom, clove, and black pepper into a complex middle ground between hot chocolate and chai.
Seeing as maya nuts are often used as a caffeine-free alternative to coffee, this blend’s thick, earthy flavor blends perfectly with rich chocolate, bitter-sweet cloves, and the slightly citrus-like notes of cardamom. In tandem with the spice of ginger and black pepper, Rainforest Chai No. 113 makes for the perfect all-day chai, no matter how you cut it.

This one surprised me! I don't like what is usually packaged as Chai in the U.S. but Portal has won me over with their chai blends. This one is SO good and warming in winter. Made into a latte in soy or oat milk, it tastes like a hot cocoa with a pleasant bite of bitterness (from the maya nut?) and a hint of warming spice from the ginger and peppercorn. It really is lovely!
This is my FAVORITE non caffeinated chai to mix with kava kava for a nighttime latte! 10/10 recommend blending this to taste / strength you prefer.
